Samuel Lawrence was the nephew and assistant to the original Father Wrath. When his uncle tried to sexually assault him, he responded by bludgeoning the man to death. Disillusioned with the faith, he became a drug abuser and alcoholic. Eventually, he decided the world was a lesser place without his uncle and decided to take up his title in appearance and punishing sinners.
